Our Story

How it all started...

Pastor Kenneth Stephen Lancaster was raised in a loving Christian home by caring parents who
instilled in him the importance of faith, family, and service to God. From an early age, he loved
attending church, singing with his sister, and participating in the church choir.
During his teenage years, Pastor Lancaster drifted away from the godly principles he had been
taught, influenced by life's temptations and challenges. This season led to struggles with
disappointment, substance abuse, failed relationships, and incarceration. Yet, through it all, he
believes the prayers of his parents and the grace of God preserved his life and ultimately guided
him back to his divine purpose.
Pastor Lancaster is a Vietnam-era veteran who honorably served in the United States Air Force
and was discharged in March 1978. Following his military service, he worked various jobs
before making the life-changing decision at age 55 to begin college and pursue higher education.
He earned his associate degree from Stark State College in just two years, followed by a
bachelor’s degree from Malone University. He later obtained his Master of Social Work degree
from Case Western Reserve University and became a licensed social worker. Pastor Lancaster is
also pursuing a Master of Theological Studies (MTS) degree at Methodist Theological School in
Ohio, with an anticipated graduation date of May 23, 2026.
In March 2020, Pastor Lancaster founded the I.M.P.A.C.T. Evangelistic Center COGIC, Inc.,
with a mission to bring hope, healing, restoration, and transformation to the community through
the power of Jesus Christ. By the grace and faithfulness of God, on March 31, 2023, the ministry
secured the down payment and began purchasing its church property.
In August 2025, Pastor Lancaster faced one of the greatest challenges of his life when he was
diagnosed with Stage III goblet cell adenocarcinoma of the appendix. He underwent four
surgeries, including the removal of his appendix and portions of his colon. Although
chemotherapy was recommended in December 2025, Pastor Lancaster prayerfully chose a
different path. Through faith in God, a disciplined plant-based lifestyle, exercise, and a
commitment to wellness — including swimming five days a week — he experienced remarkable
recovery. Today, he is cancer-free and has lost nearly 100 pounds, giving God all the glory for
his healing and renewed strength.
Pastor Lancaster is married to Christine Lancaster and is the proud father of Pastor Julius
(Ashanti) Lancaster of Columbus, Ohio. He is also the loving grandfather of Julianna, King, Zion
Lancaster, Jordin, and Jaevon Travis.
Pastor Lancaster often shares the words his mother taught him:
“Smile, you’re on God’s camera!”
And with unwavering faith, he continues to declare:
“The best is yet to come!”
